Participation of HIPO at ISIF’25
The 10th Istanbul International Invention Fair (ISIF’25) took place between 17 and 21 September 2025, with the Hungarian Intellectual Property Office (HIPO) among the invited participants.
Organised by the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office (TÜRKPATENT), the event was officially opened by Mehmet Fatih Kacir, Minister of Industry and Technology, António Campinos, President of the European Patent Office (EPO), and M. Zeki Durak, President of TÜRKPATENT, who also delivered opening speeches. HIPO was represented at the ceremony by Csaba Baticz, Chief Advisor to the President.
The invention fair formed an important part of the TEKNOFEST programme, which aims to engage young people in national technology initiatives in Türkiye, thereby accelerating R&D and innovation and fostering the development of critical technologies. Over the past two decades, Türkiye has significantly increased its annual R&D and related HR expenditure, while the number of technoparks and startups has risen unexpectedly. Intellectual property capacity has also expanded, with a sharp rise in applications and registered IP rights.
On the margins of the event, the delegation of HIPO, led by Deputy President Dóra Gyetvainé Virág, held bilateral talks with the President and leaders in the patent field of TÜRKPATENT, further strengthening the already excellent professional relationship between the two offices.
